Description

Prepare for laughs and calamitous adventures with this heartwarming story of a ten-year-old boy and his Gran.

What would happen if a potion with magical qualities ever got into the wrong hands? Tommy and his Gran are tasked with making sure that this doesn't happen.

Gran is no stranger to tricky situations, being accident prone, hard of hearing and often getting things mixed up; she's lucky to have her grandson by her side to help her out.

Things change when they stumble across a mysterious book in a charity shop window. This leads to a meeting with Queen, to taking on robbers and dog snatchers.

No-one is a match for this Gran.

A story that explores positive themes such as:

-         Kindness

-         Empathy

-         Respect for the elderly generation

-         Confidence building

With a magic potion that gives Gran superpowers, and the threat of it getting into the wrong hands - we're in for a heck of a ride.

Will life ever be the same again for this crazy duo?

Sample:

Was the man driving the small, beige car behind really following us? I'd first noticed him when we were in the charity shop where I could see him peering through the window at Gran while she was at the counter. He had a grey moustache, was wearing a beige hat, dark glasses and a long beige raincoat.

We were travelling at a slightly slower speed than the rest of the traffic, so most cars were signalling and then over-taking us to pass by. The beige car behind us was sticking close-by, though. I was certain at this point that we were being followed. I didn't say anything to Gran because I didn't want to make it obvious that I was onto him, and I didn't want to distract her.

Gran slowed down as we approached a pedestrian crossing to allow a lady and a teenager to pass. They were crossing hastily to escape the drizzle. As she slowed to an almost stop, a small brown dog spotted us and lunged forward. It did so with such force that its lead broke free from the grip of its owner. There was a break in the traffic, and Gran was able to speed up again. She had no idea that we now had a mutt and a random Mr Beige hot on our tails.

Over the speed bumps, round the corner...Gran was getting faster. "Whoo hoo, let's see just how fast this machine can really go," Gran shouted.

I looked around to see that the dog was still giving chase, and it was causing absolute mayhem. I could see people joining in, trying their best to help by grabbing at the dog or the lead, but the little pooch was just too fast.

Passers-by were getting tossed up into the air as the handle of the dog's lead caught on peoples' feet. Umbrellas were scattering the pavement like vacant boats on a rough sea. Gran sped up even more so, but unfortunately, so did the hound.

The sound of yelps and squeals grabbed the attention of shoppers ahead. They could see the dog fast approaching but didn't have time to warn the people who were about to get caught up in all the commotion. I wanted to help and warn someone, but it all happened too quickly.
